In Texas there are three groups of people who can dispense hearing aids: Audiologists, Licensed Dispensers and Medical Doctors. The Hearing Aid Express team includes Audiologists, Doctors of Audiology and Licensed Dispensers (including National Board Certified Dispensers).
Audiologists were previously certified through a Master’s Degree program. As the audiology profession moves from a Master’s program to a Doctoral program Hearing Aid Express is moving right along with it.

Cristen L. Plummer, AuD, CCC-A
Dr. Plummer received her Bachelor's of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1991 and Master's of Arts in Audiology in 1993, both from The University of Texas in Austin. She later earned her Doctorate of Audiology from AT Still University of Health Sciences in 2007.
Dr. Plummer has been employed by Hearing Aid Express since 1995, working her first 5 years in the Houston area offices, and then moving to open the Austin branch of HAE in 2000, where she has been practicing since.
Her experience is in the evaluation of hearing, and the fitting and servicing of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. She works with the deaf and hard-of-hearing of all ages, from pediatric to adult and elderly populations.
